More About Megan
I am passionate about improving relationships, whether that be with your partner(s), family, or even yourself. I specialize in individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and work with teenagers.
I especially enjoy working with couples, helping them build better emotional connections through communication. With an attachment-based approach, I help couples dig deeper to uncover the true emotions and triggers that are under the surface. I know all too well how the best of couples can get stuck in a negative interaction pattern, bringing out the worst in each other – but this doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be together. I work to help couples understand each other better and form new communication patterns to get unstuck from that pattern and feel more safe and secure in their relationship.
I also really enjoy working with teens and adolescents, helping them discover themselves and gain more confidence to get through the many stressors in today’s world. I will build a safe and trusting bond with your teen to act as a supportive mentor, providing them with useful skills they can carry with them as they become adults.
I take a holistic, systemic approach with clients, looking at all aspects of your life or family system to find what is contributing to the problems you’re currently facing.
During our time together, I will work to help you sort through your problems, break down anxieties or negative thoughts, empower you to make the most of their life, and provide you with a non-judgemental listening ear. I stay strengths-focused so you can access the strengths you already possess in order to accomplish the goals you want to obtain. I use a variety of different approaches, including Emotionally-Focused Therapy, The Gottman Method, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),
Born and raised in the beautiful Seattle area, I stayed local to earn my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree at the University of Washington and Seattle University. Since then, I have worked in various mental health settings like community mental health, eating disorder treatment centers, and parenting classes. Outside of working with clients, I enjoy reading, exercising, true crime podcasts, and traveling.
