More About McKenna

I am a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate with a deep love of helping people find the best versions of themselves. I hold a masters degree in therapy, a bachelor’s degree in psychology and family and consumer science, have certification in Level Two Gottman Method Couples therapy, and hands on experience working with individuals, children and adolescence, and families in a therapeutic space. I have seen the powerful impact the insight, and self-understanding arising from therapy can have on a person’s life – improving relationships, decreasing stress, finding greater intimacy and connection within your most valued relationships are just a few of the positive outcomes of self exploration through therapy.

As a clinician I work from a collaborative approach, and believe only you can truly know what is best for you. I love helping my clients develop coping skills that allow them to find a balance between autonomy and togetherness in their personal and professional lives. I use an integrative approach to therapy, using psychodynamic, experiential, humanistic, systemic, and cognitive-behavioral evidence based modalities. My work with children also integrates elements of play and art therapy. I find this approach is well suited to creating a unique and effective therapeutic experience that can help many people. As a therapist, I am warm, accepting, and supportive.

I am a Seattle native. In my personal time, I enjoy exploring the beauty of our state from coast to mountain top with my two children, husband, and rambunctious pup, Teddy. I am a big fan of soccer and enjoy watching our Seattle Sounders play. I love spending time in the kitchen baking and will always jump at the opportunity to travel. I am interested in how exercise and nutrition impact our mental health and find I love the benefits of bike riding and weight training. I love what I do and feel honored to be able to have the opportunity to work to help people improve their sense of well-being.
