More About Marissa

As a client in my care, you and I will work collaboratively to figure out a rhythm of therapy that empowers you as an individual. You are the expert in your own experiences, and I am here to walk alongside you as you explore your healing journey.

My passion is to be a support for people as they heal and strengthen their mental health. I do this through a combination of reflection, encouragement, psychoeducation and humor. As a trauma-informed therapist, I incorporate trauma education and strategies for healing through grounding and sensory exploration. My belief is that when we know more about mental health and how trauma impacts our minds and bodies, we drastically increase our ability to cope and heal.

During your work with me, I will provide a warm and non-judgmental space that honors your pace and needs. I address a wide array of issues, including but not limited to anxious thoughts, social anxiety, mood dysregulation, relationship with food/body, self-esteem, communication, relational trauma, identity challenges, and relationship dynamics.

My formal training includes both Bachelor’s and Master’s level degrees in Counseling, studying mental health in both Pennsylvania and Washington. Since I began practicing therapy in 2018 I’ve worked in residential, office, and school-based settings providing both mental health and behavioral support. I have extensive experience working with both teen and adult populations, with specialized experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community.

In my personal time, I enjoy paddleboarding, making art, playing games and hanging out with my cat Piper!”
