“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves” – Viktor Frankl

It is a brave thing to confront ourselves and look inward. Therapy can be transformative, challenging, healing, and life-changing. My own life has been greatly impacted by attending therapy, and I understand what it’s like to be on both sides of the chair. I consider myself a psych-nerd, and I love learning about new theories and approaches. Some of my personal favorites are existential (thus the Viktor Frankl quote), person-centered, psychodynamic, narrative, and emotionally focused therapy. If we choose to work together, I hope to create a space where you feel you can express your authentic self and gain the tools needed to grow and change.

More About Jasmine

I am a client-centered therapist who believes in taking a holistic and integrative approach. I value empowering clients and helping them identify their strengths, goals, and desires. I utilize a systemic and anti-oppressive lens to help clients reclaim their identities, rewrite harmful narratives, and live as their authentic selves without shame. I work with adults, teens, and couples, with an affinity for working with LGBTQIA+ individuals. I am also a poly-aware therapist who understands the nuances of navigating various relationship structures.

I support those struggling with trauma(s), post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, ADHD, identity exploration, sex-related concerns, intimacy, or life transitions. I integrate many different therapeutic modalities into my practice including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Method, Person-Centered Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I also incorporate mindfulness, somatic approaches, and nervous system regulation into sessions. When discussing sex-related concerns, I subscribe to the ideology that people deserve to focus on pleasure. There can be so much shame and stigma surrounding sex and sex-related topics, and I am a passionate advocate in destigmatizing these topics. I believe therapy is collaborative work, and that the client is the expert of their experience. There is no “one-size fits all” theory, and I tailor sessions to each individual client or couple. My role is to support you with therapeutic tools, compassion, and understanding.

My educational background includes a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Washington, a Masters of Education in Counseling from Seattle University, and a Sex Therapy Certificate from Antioch University. I have always been a very community-centered person. In college, I volunteered as a peer health educator as a way to bridge the gap of knowledge and resources about sexual and emotional health for students on campus. After my undergraduate studies, I worked briefly within Americorps, leading groups of teens in Youth Participatory Action Research groups so they could learn research skills and the needs of their community. After earning my graduate degree, I worked as a school based mental health therapist for a program that provided free therapy for teens within the community.

In my free time, I am a very relational person, and enjoy spending time with my girlfriend, friends, and family. I enjoy spending time in Seattle’s many green spaces and parks, and consider myself an amateur birder. I also like to read, play cozy video games, try new restaurants around the city, and watch TV (love a cringe reality TV show).
